Today’s Video:
Good Tuesday morning!
We have a rain/snow mix working through portions of South Dakota this morning with rain in SE North Dakota and Eastern South Dakota. Some scattered showers are also occurring in Minnesota this morning.
This system will slowly work through the region today and push off to the south and east. Any snow mixing in likely diminishes throughout the next few hours and any light coatings on grassy surfaces likely melts away quickly. Rain will work out of the region completely by around 2AM CST tonight with it moving out of North Dakota over the next few hours. Minnesota likely sees scattered showers into the evening.
Overall, wouldn’t rule out 0.25-0.5″ in the area circled in red with a few isolated heavier amounts possible.
A weak disturbance will move through overnight Wednesday and into Thursday and spawn a few scattered light showers, but not expecting any notable precipitation accumulation.
Overall, other than today’s rain event, we’re expecting fairly dry conditions over the next week especially in portions of Minnesota.
Temperatures will cool off below freezing especially for South Dakota and Minnesota overnight tonight but get back into the 60s for many tomorrow. Note, as we get into late week, we’ll really start to get warmer air pump in to the area, which will set the stage for widespread 70s this weekend!

Here’s a look at cloud cover over the next few days. Clouds for southern areas today, but expect to see the sun to return tomorrow as clouds move into North Dakota ahead of our Thursday disturbance.
Here’s a look at winds over the next few days. Some gusty winds with today and Thursday’s system are certainly on the table.
