Today’s video:
Observed total precipitation over the past 24 hours, noting just some light showers as anticipated yesterday across the north / northeastern parts of the state:
Total precipitation guidance over the next 5 days is below…we anticipate especially later today through Thursday for a return to another very active period for locations mainly along and south of I-44. We also mentioned in the video we think tomorrow into the evening we may see some isolated strong to severe storms develop across the southeastern parts of the state. This data shown below may be a little too broad-brushed with widespread 1.0-2.0″ from Joplin to St. Louis, but do think those areas in between pose a good risk to seeing 0.5-1.5″ with localized higher possible:
Also mentioned in the video, heading into early / mid next week the precip looks to shift north of I-44 where we actually need the precipitation, with multiple bouts of precip chances forecasted…and then getting into the last couple days of the month into early May we think most of the state poses the risks for another shot of above normal rainfall potential with 1-2 targeted storm dates in that timeframe (maybe even strong storm risks):
Wind forecast guidance next 4 days is below:
Maryville, MO:
Butler, MO:
Columbia, MO:
