Illinois Video:
A frontal system will bring the risk of a few widely scattered storms to the northwest portions of the state this afternoon into tonight. There could be isolated large hail/gusty winds in northern and especially northwest counties. I think scattered pockets of 0.1″ to 0.3″ of rain from Freeport to DeKalb to Chicago, Waukegan, to Ottawa and Geneseo is possible this evening. As the front continues to shift southeast, limited instability will be very limited rain chances. Widely scattered storms develop south of I-64 mainly for Tuesday afternoon as the front continues to settle south, and combines with day-time heat.
Total precipitation through Tuesday night: Likely slightly underdone un the north.
