Forecast radar from 10am to 11pm CDT today:
A band of 6-12″ is expected across northern Iowa. Here is our updated snowfall risk graphic:
Total precipitation with today’s system:
Quiet weather returns Thursday, then we watch rain chances Friday and Saturday for Nebraska. Iowa looks to miss out and stay dry late week through the weekend.
There is still some uncertainty regarding the amount of rain. It certainly appears the heaviest will be across southwest Nebraska. The European model puts down a band of 0.5″ to 0.75″ around North Platte.
The GFS is more robust with precipitation across Nebraska. I think the European has a better handle from this distance.
