Here is a look at preferred snowfall totals. More details in the video. There is some risk that warmer air can cut down on these and not all of this will impacts surfaces due to melting upon contact. Regardless, treacherous travel conditions and slick spots will be possible. Further towards Des Moines, only minor pavement impacts will be possible as the heaviest of the snow looks to fall into the souther 2 tier county rows of IA.
