IN Video:

Here is a look at the current hazards here across the midwest.  There is currently a Winter Weather advisory across northern IN.

Here is a look at simulated radar from 4 PM today through 9 PM tomorrow. Precip begins to work in later this evening with the heaviest snow working from around Rensselaer to Fort Wayne and points north.  PLEASE WATCH VIDEO FOR COMPLETE DETAILS.

Here is a look at the preferred snowfall totals with this system.  The area highlighted in yellow is the area most preferred for banding to set up with amounts of 3″ – 6″.  HOWEVER, it must be noted that warmer temperatures and an April Sun angle should limit that which can accumulate on pavement.  Snowfall rates well be heavy enough that some impacts will be felt but amounts on pavement should be about half of that which falls from the sky.  Some slick spots will be possible in the highlighted area and travel could become hazardous.  The good news is that temperatures warm up on Friday which should help melt all/ most of the snow.  More discussion in the video.

Here is a look at the preferred liquid amounts with this system.  More detail in the video:

Low temperatures Saturday morning.  Model below may be slightly too cool to the north but sub 32 F will be possible into Saturday morning.

Here is a look at low temperatures into Sunday morning.

Here is a look at the sustained winds around 3 PM today.  Overall, winds don’t look to be too breezy although some winds around 10 – 25 MPH will be possible across eastern portions of the state.

Here is a look at the sustained winds around 2 PM tomorrow.  Some gust across southern IN may reach the 30 MPH mark.  Winds will begin to shift out of the northwest as a cold front passes.

Most of the weekend should be dry.  Just some weak, scattered, light chances on Sunday.  Here is a snapshot of the European model around 2 PM Sunday.
