Here is a look at preferred snowfall amounts “falling from the sky. Not all of this will accumulate on pavement as warmer temperatures/ pavement temperatures are expected. However, heavy/ wet snowfall will likely lead to some pavement issues. Areas in western IL near Burlington have the highest potential to see some locally higher amounts with isolated amounts of 6″ – 10” possible. Further to the east, warmer temperatures and less favorable conditions will be at play. Also there is some risk along the southern edge of the the snow shown below. Here is a look at preferred liquid amounts with this event. About 0.5″ – 1″ will be possible in an area between Moline, Chicago, Danville, to just north of St. Louis, with locally higher possible from Peoria towards the Burlington area. About 0.1″ – 0.5″ will be possible across southern Illinois with lesser amounts the further south/ west.
