4-10-19 Minnesota: Significant blizzard getting started with the height of the storm expected into Thursday into the overnight. I.

Today’s Video:

Here’s a look at total snowfall through Friday for the significant blizzard that has got going already in SD and is only beginning for portions of southwestern MN. Projections continue to point towards a massive dose of snow for many in southwestern/central MN (12-18″+). Portions of southwestern MN will likely receive 18-24″+. At times the snow can fall at 1-3″/hr! Blizzard conditions will really ramp up into the day Thursday where gusts of 30-50mph+ are anticipated. Please take this storm seriously and all necessary precautions should be done at this point in time. Power outages and roof collapses will be possible given the heavy weight of the wet snow. Liquid equivalent amounts of 1-3″ are expected in the southern two-thirds of the state through Friday, which is bad news for those impacted by the recent flooding as when this snow melts it will exacerbate ongoing issues.
