4-10-19 Iowa: Powerful system lifts over the area through Friday with the potential for snow to mix in far north. I.

Iowa Video:

Total precipitation through Tuesday reveals heavy liquid amounts of 1-3″ for the northern half of the state (coming through Thursday night). An additional system into Sunday will bring an additional round of precipitation (rain and snow mix) that leads to the southeastern corner of the state also picking up 1-2″ of liquid by the end of the event late Sunday night. With the system lifting in through late week, watch for rain to mix with snow at times clipping the far northern tip of IA. However, the heaviest snow chances will remain just north of the IA/MN border.
