Total precipitation through 7 days: Scattered light rains will be confined to northern IL today with a line of gusty showers and storms developing and passing through the state starting late Thursday afternoon and lingering until Friday morning (showers by this point) as a cold front sweeps through the area. The next chance after Friday morning for more widespread showers and storms come late Saturday night through Sunday night. Snow may mix in across far northwestern IL. Rainfall amounts of 1-2.5″ will be likely over the course of the next 7 days from these two waves working through.
