4-1-19 Minnesota: Tracking potential for light snow accumulation tonight/tomorrow. Warmth increases late this week. B.

Today’s Video:

Good Monday morning everyone. We do have a few scattered light snow showers/flurries in the northern portion of the state this morning, but better chances of light snow accumulation will develop with a wave into tonight for Southern Minnesota counties. This snow will likely mix in with rain at times especially as it initially moves in before cooling allows for snow to become the predominant precipitation type. As we work into tomorrow, an arctic front will begin to dive into the area and spawn scattered snow showers and squalls. There are enough dynamics with these squalls to produce some isolated totals of 1″+ in Northern Minnesota tomorrow.

Here’s a look at potential accumulation with the wave tonight and snow shower activity tomorrow and tomorrow night:

Here’s a look at temperatures over the next 4 days. Cooler air especially in Northern Minnesota is likely into Wednesday. but a front moves through late Thursday and allows temperatures to really warm up into this weekend.

Wind will gust with the snow showers tomorrow as high as 40 MPH at times from the northwest:

A weak wave is possible with a front late Thursday in Northern Minnesota with some light rain/snow mix. A few isolated showers or sprinkles are also possible in far southern counties – though most likely remain dry in these counties.
