Good morning everyone. No real adjustments to our forecast thoughts for today. The theme will be early scattered snow showers, gusty winds and chilly temperatures. Below is a look at the simulated radar from 5AM – 5PM this afternoon:
Overall, the majority of the snow showers will come this morning, mixing in with some rain at first. A couple of sprinkles cannot be ruled out this afternoon, but the afternoon has much more dry time overall. Below is our latest hourly forecast:
Forecast Blurb:
Snow showers have developed across Northern and Central IN as expected but temperatures remain well above freezing. These snow showers will swing south closer to Laurel over the next few hours with scattered snow showers likely by 6-7AM. These will be light overall and sporadic at times with the highest concentration likely just north of the area. The best chances for scattered snow showers will be between 5:30 and 10AM. Temperatures will be slightly above freezing and combined with very gusty winds, there likely won’t be wintry travel issues. With that being said, the wind is a concern with much of the day sees sustained winds of 20 MPH with gusts of at least 40 MPH. With these winds, wind chills will be in the mid-upper 20s throughout the day.
