3-5-20 500 Festival 6-Miler: Gusty winds tomorrow. Saturday starts cool, but calm and sunny. B.

Good morning everyone. We wanted to touch on the gusty winds tomorrow if you have any setup for the 6-miler tomorrow. I’ve attached today’s Indiana Video below:

Wind gusts throughout the day will likely be sustained around 15-20 MPH throughout the day with gusts of 30-40 locally higher.

We could also see some flurries or maybe a couple of snow showers along and NE of the city tomorrow morning, but temperatures will be marginal and winds will be so gusty we aren’t anticipating issues with snow accumulation or impacts.

Below is your latest hourly forecast for this Saturday’s 6-Miler! We really haven’t adjusted much on the forecast as we look to start the day off clear and cool with temperatures in the mid-20s. However, winds will be light so we are not really anticipating big issues with wind chills. As the sun comes up it will heat the dry air quickly and we’ll surge into the 40s by mid-day.

Forecast Blurb:

No changes to our thoughts for Sunday. High pressure will dominate the forecast leading to a cool start to the day but abundant sunshine. Under the high pressure winds will be light and under 10 MPH until some gusts to 15 are possible in the afternoon. Temperatures will rise into the 40s by the mid-day leading to more pleasant conditions.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out and have a great day!
