Good Tuesday morning! Overall, nothing to see on the radar this morning, but some weak energy could spawn some snow showers or flurries late this afternoon and tonight. Generally, accumulations will be very hit or miss and a dusting for most that see snow (and many will miss out). NE Minnesota stands the best shot at seeing isolated 0.5″ amounts:
Overall, temperatures won’t be brutally cold the next few days but will remain in the teens and single digits for ths most part:
The next system will work into SW South Dakota late tomorrow evening and expand into the overnight hours. This will be a slow moving wave that will favor southern SD for the best chances for snow accumulation. Lowest confidence areas are from Dupree to Sioux Falls where questions remain above how far north the snow shield can expand, but given high snow ratios we’ll go around 1″ for these areas for our prelim snowfall outlook:
We’ll then turn our attention to a potent storm for this weekend that will likely track into the Plains. Overall, there are a lot of differences in data between exact track and strength of the storm, but they do all agree with the potential for heavy accumulating snow this weekend and strong winds Saturday and Sunday:
