After looking over evening data confidence continues to grow on a period of very heavy snow across central IL/IN tomorrow evening between 5pm western IL to 2a Eastern IN. Forecast radar from latest data shows it nicely. I would anticipate winter weather advisory and possibly even a winter storm warning or 2 esp in central IL and west central IN.
Impressive dynamics suggest heavy banding possible with perhaps 1-2” rates per hour at a time closer to 10p-1a.
Latest data from the NAM models agree with our thinking.
Here is our official snowfall forecast as of tonight. This can still change tomorrow but let’s keep what we have for now. We do think some places could see 5-6” locally.
