Good Friday morning! Here is a look at weather headlines over the next several days:
Cloud cover and lingering showers will be stubborn for south and eastern Indiana, but drier air moving in today will mean decreasing coverage of showers and some breaks of sunshine developing through the afternoon.
Saturday begins dry, but an approaching front will bring scattered light showers from late morning through the afternoon from northwest to southeast. As you’ll see in our wind forecast panel, expect a windy day with gusts of 40-50 mph in northern portions of the state.
Data has come back with the threat for light snow Sunday evening/night. It appears this may arrive late afternoon/early evening for Easter Sunday, then move out during pre-dawn Monday. 7pm-2am may be the main time-frame. Here is a look at the forecast radar from 1pm Sunday to 5am Monday:
Here is a look at multiple model data….they all agree on the rain/snow mix Sunday night, but some differences in exact placement. A band of light snow accumulations appears possible near I-70 or just south, with refreezing likely the biggest concern as we head into Monday morning. Given how the data has gone back and forth on this, it’s not a guarantee, but the signals can’t be ignored.
