3-3-20 500 Festival Education Program: Breezy day remains on tap with scattered shower/sprinkle threat. B.

Good morning everyone. Overall, no major changes to this afternoons forecast, but we are starting the morning off quite a bit warmer in the upper-30s. Below I’ve attached our latest Indiana video to go along with our hourly forecast update/discussion:

Here is our latest hourly forecast for today:

Forecast Blurb:

A northward tick of the southern storm system has led to temperatures staying warmer overnight, in the upper-30s with some AM clouds. Throughout the rest of the day the sun will likely come out and allows temperatures to warm up into the low 50s. However, we cannot rule out a passing shower or a few sprinkles between 12 – 4PM, but this will be highly scattered and very light and the majority of the time will be dry. There is a low, but non-zero chance that one of these showers could tap into some weak instability and produce lightning. Winds will really pick up into the afternoon with gusts increasing to 30-35 MPH after noon. Sustained winds of 15-20 MPH are likely throughout the afternoon with persistent gusts of 25-35 MPH.

Here’s a look at the simulated radar today showing some of the sprinkles/scattered showers throughout the area. Again, these are still looking very light, isolated with minimal impacts anticipated as the best forcing remains just off to our east.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out and have a great day!
