Today’s Video:
Mix of rain and snow continues to push eastward across Northern South Dakota this morning. Temperatures are marginal or above freezing so we don’t anticipate major issues with this wave:
Below is the simulated radar into 4-5 AM tomorrow morning. Note we can continue to see scattered light snow or flurries in Eastern North Dakota throughout much of the day today so a dusting in some spots is not off the table – but it will be widely scattered. The wave this morning pushes east out of the state of South Dakota by the mid-afternoon.
Snow really begins to pick up in the Western and Southwestern South Dakota as we work into tomorrow morning. Temperatures will once again be marginal at or above freezing. Snow that falls in the morning in NW SD likely melts by the afternoon as temperatures should approach the 40s. An arctic front will push this system south out of the area and brings snow showers into Central and Eastern North Dakota as early as tomorrow morning. A dusting to an isolated quarter-half inch cannot be ruled out under these isolated snow showers with flurries lingering into Saturday morning:
Here’s a look at snow with this system. Given the marginal temperatures we are going with lesser totals with the best shot of 2-5″ in Northern Nebraska.
