3-27-18 Central Plains Forecast: Heavy rains target Missouri this week…..cooler than normal temps dominate the pattern. N.

Much of Missouri and southeast Kansas picked up heavy rains over the past 24 hours!  Decent rains fell across central and southern Iowa as well.  Estimated rain amounts shown below:

Forecast radar shows rain showers continuing to target the eastern half of Kansas and much of Missouri throughout the day.  High pressure will keep Nebraska and Iowa dry today!

A few scattered showers will be possible in most of the region later Wednesday, then Missouri will be targeted for another round of widespread rainfall Wednesday night through Thursday:

Additional heavy rain amounts target southern Missouri between now and Thursday with 2-4″+ over the next 60 hours.  

As discussed in the video….another front works through the region Saturday into Easter Sunday…..this may bring a dramatic temperature drop for the second half of the weekend, along with the threat of some wet snow.  

Weeks 1 and 2 outlooks show temperatures overall remaining much cooler than normal.  It’s overall drier than normal in Iowa, Kansas, and Nebraska, while southern Missouri remains wet.
