3-20-20 Ankeny: Breezy today… discussing weak system on Sunday with rain/ snow chances. MG.

IA Video:

Here is a look at the past 48 hour rainfall amounts:

Winds will continue to be breezy today before calming down later tonight into tomorrow.  Here is at the sustained winds around 2 PM today.  A stout northerly breeze will continue to pump in cooler temperatures keeping temperatures on the cooler side today.

Here is a look at simulated radar from 4 AM Sunday through 1 am Monday.  An area of rain/ snow will work in from the south Sunday morning before pushing off to the east in the evening hours.  This system looks to be on the weaker side and confidence is lower on precip type.  Something we will continue to fine tune going forward.

Here is a snapshot of the European model around 10 AM Tuesday.  Another system will be possible that looks to bring rain as the primary precip type.  Warmer temperatures will be possible being this system.
