3-11-20 Tovar Champaign – Bloomington: Small rain chances today… discussing rain/ storm potential tomorrow + weekend system. MG.

IL Video:

Here is a look at simulated radar from 8 AM this morning through 9 PM tonight.  Some light rain/ drizzle will be possible across northern portions of the state this morning into the afternoon.  Some rain/ thunder possible across far southern portions of the state as well.   More details in the video.

We will also need to be on the lookout for some fog tomorrow morning.  Here is a look at the modeled visibilities tomorrow morning around 7 AM.  Some patchy fog will be possible across central and southern portions of the state.

Focus then shifts to precipitation chances for tomorrow.  Here is a look at simulated radar from 11 AM tomorrow through 12 AM Thursday.  Some strong storms will be possible across southern portions of the state tomorrow with hail and strong winds possible (isolated tornado cannot be ruled out).  How far north the severe potential can be realized will be dependent on how fast the fog can clear out tomorrow and how much instability can build to the north.  Please watch video for complete details.

Here is a look at preferred rainfall totals through Friday morning.

Here is a snapshot of the European model around 1 PM Saturday.  We continue to keep an eye on this system for some wintry potential.   However, we continue to remain suspect to to the time of day/ year, how far out we are still, and the trends we have seen with the last few systems.  We will continue to monitor going forward.
