We are still favoring no pavement impacts for Chicago/ Waukegan and the surrounding metro areas for this wave of precip overnight tonight. While it is certainly possible that some flakes can mix in with the rain showers for an hour or two, we are not expecting any impacts thanks to the fact that we are currently 46 and sunny in CHI, we’ve been in the upper 40s/50s for the past couple days, and the fact that temps only get down to the 32-33 degree mark tonight. Below is a 6 panel of sim radar from 2 AM CT through 7 AM CT- again we can’t rule out some light snowflakes mixing in during the early morning hours, but not expecting impacts:
