Simulated radar guidance as we go throughout the day into Saturday morning favoring the norther 1-2 county rows mainly for accumulating snowfall (note into the afternoon and evening at times it may push north out of the state)…further south and it tapers off very quickly with south of I-70 seeing no snow at all; actually likely seeing peaks of sunshine with temps 40-50º!
Updated thoughts on remaining snow through Saturday morning favoring far NW locations for the heaviest totals of 6-8″ (locally higher possible)…tapering off quickly further south we go:
We have a concern after midnight for freezing drizzle/rain to persist throughout the day north of I-70 where temps are ~28-32º consistently…accumulations not necessarily looking heavy but a persistent glaze on surfaces and pavement where untreated on the table…travel cautiously. South of I-70 it’ll stay light drizzle and rain showers with temps above freezing. Here’s the highest probability for 0.01-0.1″ of freezing rain accumulations Saturday into Sunday morning…north of I-70 where temps will be just below freezing:
Another wave of wintry precipitation works in Sunday morning throughout the day with NW parts of the state likely seeing snow pushing southeast…along I-70 and points south we can’t rule out a bit of a mixed bag of frozen precipitation as temps start to fall at or below freezing throughout the day into the evening:
