Good Friday morning! Here is a look at the snowfall totals across Iowa over the past 24 hours. Impressive totals over the north-central portions of the state, with 11″ reported near Fort Dodge!
Waves of snow will continue to ride west to east across Nebraska and Iowa through the day, then tonight we see areas of light mixed precipitation (freezing drizzle and flurries) develop over portions of Kansas and Missouri. Here is the forecast radar from this morning through noon CT Saturday:

Another wave will move into the western Plains Saturday afternoon, and spread east across the area Saturday night. This will spread a swath of snowfall across north-central Kansas, southern Nebraska, southern Iowa, and northern Missouri. Notice the pink from southeast Kansas to central/southern Missouri where some light icing is likely. Forecast radar from 11AM CT Saturday to 2PM CT Sunday shown below:

By time all is said and done, here is the additional snowfall across the region from this morning through Sunday. Several inch swath of snow possible across the northern half of Kansas, northern Missouri, southern Iowa and Nebraska. Heaviest band expected in southern Iowa where some 6″+ bands can’t be ruled out.
