2-8-18 Ohio: Targeting accumulating snow north into Friday…eyeing weekend wintry weather threat. K.

Today’s video:

Not expecting any inclement weather today, in fact we will likely work in sunshine the second half of the day today, although temps remain chilly in the teens to 20s. The snowfall shown below will be only focused across the norther 2-3 (maybe 4 initially) county rows of Ohio…locations south of I-70 will not see any snow from this wave late tonight through Friday. But some locations, especially northwestern OH could see a consistent band of snow the entire day Friday. It should also be noted there is an extremely tight gradient of snow here even within the same county as discussed in the video. We also think the winter storm watch could be tugged one county southeast as well to capture the risks here. Expecting things to wind down early Saturday morning east.

Updated thoughts on accumulation through Friday night…a band of 8-12″ across far northwestern OH with a very tight gradient between the 6-10″ and 3-6″ band heading east. Locations south of I-70 will not see any snow from this:

Watching for possible light freezing drizzle/fog threat early Saturday morning prior to our next wave of wintry weather to move in late weekend:

Latest European model has a decent handle on how things evolve late Saturday into Sunday…there likely will be a band of mixed precipitation with snow north and rain south…the biggest question is exactly where this sets up…will fine-tune this as we go through today into tomorrow:
