2-7-18 Wed AM Ohio Winter Storm Update

Good Wednesday morning.  Impactful winter storm affecting much of the state this morning with a variety of precipitation types.  Freezing rain has been dominant throughout the Cincinnati metro east to Chillicothe, while areas north from Dayton to Columbus are picking up several inches of snowfall.  Here is the latest advisory/warning map:

Here is the forecast radar from 6am to noon.  Do want to note that the moisture has been advancing east quicker than the models are suggesting.  Most of this will be out of here by mid-morning, with some residual freezing drizzle possible:

Most of the state stays below freezing today, with a very cold night ahead.  Many spots with the snow cover dip into the single digits.

Some warmer air will try to come at us by late week, with a disturbance expected to impact northern sections of the state Thursday night-Friday night.  Fulton and Williams county are under a winter storm watch during this time for 5-9″ snow potential.  There will be a sharp south cut-off to these snows, as much of the state will not be impacted by this.
