2-5-18 Ohio: Targeting multiple waves of accumulating snowfall & wintry weather early this week…details here. K.

Today’s video:

Overall a quiet weather data forecasted ahead with a good amount of sunshine being present…not targeting snowfall to start entering the state from the west until ~7-9pmEST tonight gradually working east throughout the overnight. Residual snow flurries/showers likely for your morning commute Tuesday morning with lingering upper-level energy hanging around:

Updated thoughts on accumulating snowfall over the next 36 hours…the area circled in red we are targeting 1-3″ with snow tapering south of this area to a coating up to ~0.5″…watch for slick spots on untreated surfaces for your Tuesday morning commute:

Right on the heels of this event is our next winter storm which certainly looks more robust and higher impact. The European model solution would be quite concerning with a heavy snow band Tuesday night along the I-70 corridor and a good hit of freezing rain to the south into the Wednesday morning commute…it’s something we need to monitor very closely, but it should be noted that the GFS and Canadian models are further south and last amped up with snowfall during this timeframe as well:
