Good Tuesday morning! After a great day on Monday, even better weather is expected today. Highs should reach if not exceed 60º for many locations with mostly sunny skies. A bit more breezy today with south winds gusting 15-25 mph. Clouds will increase through the evening, with the next rain chance arriving mainly after midnight through the day Wednesday. It still appears the southern half of the region sees the highest coverage tomorrow, and especially during the morning hours.
Rain Wednesday could total up to a half-inch or more in the southern portions of the area, with much lower totals north:
After a bit of a lull Wednesday afternoon and evening, widespread rains work in overnight Wednesday through the first half of Thursday, with a diminishing trend west to east during the day. Temperatures will fall Thursday afternoon and evening, with perhaps some wet snow showers mixing in for far northern IL/IN, but trends are much less impressed with that. Better snow chances up into Michigan.
There are differences in the data regarding rainfall amounts….we feel a general 0.5″-0.75″ for most locations:
Checking out temperatures through the next several days, we remain mild on Wednesday and most of Thursday with 50s, but note temperatures start to fall Thursday afternoon, especially across northern areas. Cooler Friday with highs in the 40s across the region.
Expect winds to pick up Thursday afternoon and evening out of the west northwest, gusting 30-35mph at times:
As discussed in the video, we have a nice stretch of weather coming Friday through the upcoming weekend with lots of sunshine. The next threat for rain looks to arrive next Monday. Have a great day!
