2-26-20 Tovar NE Chicago: Simulated radar to close event and additional favored snowfall. B.

Good morning everyone. Here’s a look at the current radar and temperatures across the area:

Here’s a look at temperatures throughout the rest of this event. Note, much of the Chicago Metro can get near (or even slightly above) 32F as we work into the mid-day and early afternoon hours after the snow exits. Areas into NW IN that hang-on to the snow longer can stay a touch cooler.

Additional favored snowfall is below. Areas along and NW of downtown Chicago will receive less than 0.5″ additional while areas like Joliet, Morris and just NW of Gary sees generally less than 1″ of snow. Kankakee to Crown Pointe to South Bend has the potential to see an additional 1-1.5″ with 2″ especially further east. 

Wind gusts will stay persistent throughout the day of 20-25 MPH with locally 30 MPH gusts just off the lake shore.
