2-21-18 Northern IN: Heavy rain continues this morning…update on potential slick spots next 2 days. K.

Today’s video:

Rainfall totals last 3 days with widespread areas seeing 3-4″+ and flooding continuing to be a concern with additional rainfall likely the remainder of the week into the weekend:

Areas where we think some slick spots could be possible late morning into the second half of the day…we do have guidance that is slightly warmer and think this is confined to untreated surfaces primarily sidewalks, backroads and parking lots we encourage keeping a close on things especially where zero tolerance today; at this time not expect accumulation of frozen precipitation on roadways due to above-freezing road temps and marginal surface temps throughout the day, in northwest IN a slushy mix on grassy/elevated surfaces can’t be ruled out this morning:

Both the hi-res models and the European model suggest another window of some frozen precipitation Thursday morning working in before we climb back above freezing…again, we think this mainly confined to sidewalks, backroads and parking lots where left untreated, but deserves monitoring closely on main roads as well:
