IN DPW Update:
Record heat will be within reach today as temperatures around Indianapolis could reach the lower 60’s. The image below shows temperatures around 3 PM today. Note that this model may be slightly too cool with temps. Either way plenty of warmth and sunshine will be in store today.
Winds will continue to pickup into the noon timeframe. Wind gust of 30 – 35 MPH will be possible, but the buildings downtown will help to shield from stronger wind gust. Breezy conditions will be in store nevertheless. Here is a look at the wind gust potential by 2 PM.
Winds will begin to die down later this afternoon/ evening. Lighter winds and low level moisture will allow for potential fog development tomorrow morning. Here is a look at modeled visibilities around 5 AM tomorrow morning. The darker shades are indicative of lower visibilities due to fog. Fog will begin to dissipate as the sun rises.
We are currently not anticipating any freezing fog risk as we will be coming from warmer temperatures today and will continue to see relatively warmer air into tonight/ tomorrow morning. Here is a look at temperatures around 6 AM tomorrow morning.
More clouds begin to enter the picture tomorrow, however another warm day is expected. Here is a look at temperatures around 3 PM tomorrow.
Light precipitation chances begin to increase into the afternoon as well. Here is a snapshot of simulated radar guidance around 5 PM tomorrow.
A bit of a complicated forecast with this system next week as there is still some large model disagreement. We will obviously need to fine tune as we get closer and in the range of some of the high – resolution models. The image below shows a side by side of the European and GFS models around 1 AM Thursday, illustrating the large differences still in play.
