Synopsis: Good Friday morning! Dry and cold weather expected today. Watching the forecast for the weekend as we expect a rain/snow mix Saturday night into Sunday. An arctic front will move through Sunday evening, with an additional pulse of light snow possible. This will be the main time-frame to watch for greatest impacts for roadways as an arctic front moves through. More details today’s video and discussion below. Have a blessed day, and let us know if you have any questions!
Video (6 min):
Most of the day-time Saturday will be dry and milder as temperatures warm well above freezing. The precipitation is expected to develop Saturday evening/night in the form of mainly light snow north and east, and more of a mix of rain/snow areas south and west. With temperatures either at or generally above freezing, little concern for impact on roads. We watch for additional light precipitation Sunday, mixing with mostly rain as temperatures warm to near 40 in many spots. An arctic front will send temperatures crashing Sunday evening with an additional round of light snow. The temperature crash to below freezing looks to happen from 4-8pm ET northwest to southeast…we will fine-tune that in additional updates.
Here is a look at temperatures from 1pm Saturday to 4am ET Monday:
Looking at snow amounts…most of this is what falls Saturday night. With temperatures remaining near to above freezing, we likely never see this much actually accumulate on the ground.
More details on 2 systems we are watching for early next week in the video!
