We are keeping an eye on a batch of snow flurries/showers over northwest Illinois. There are a couple moderate bursts west of Peoria near Galesburg and Abingdon, IL. We have noticed a continued gradual weakening trend as this continues to run into a dry air mass:
Latest forecast radar indicates this area of snow showers will continue to work east across north central Illinois this evening, with a gradual weakening trend as it does so. Think this will weaken to just some snow flurries being possible across the northern half of Indiana from 1-5am ET.
A general dusting of snow will be possible across north-central Illinois, heavier west of Peoria where a half-inch (local 1″) is possible. I wouldn’t rule out a few spots seeing a dusting in northwest Indiana, but overall not expecting much more than a period of snow flurries over the northern half of Indiana during the pre-dawn hours Saturday. Here is a look at snow accumulation through 7am ET Saturday:
We will have an update out by 8am Saturday with the latest on the snow chances Saturday night/Sunday. Latest data shows little change from our update this morning.
