IL Video:
Generally quiet weather is anticipated into the weekend. Cannot rule out some light flurries late tonight into tomorrow morning in a narrow line from the Quad City area to Kankakee. “Worst Case” is that it could be down a light dusting of snow. Overall, impacts look to be very minimal and confidence is low that it can even coat the ground. It may be worth checking 0 tolerance lots over the night for any potential impacts in these areas. The loop below shows simulated radar from 9 PM tonight into 3 AM tomorrow morning. Please watch video for complete details.
Here is a look at potential snowfall totals. This would be a “worst case” scenario. Please watch video for details.
Not many concerns into the weekend with plenty of dry weather and sunshine expected into the weekend. We continue to watch a system on Sunday into Monday morning for widespread precipitation chances with perhaps some wintry potential. There are still some model differences regarding temperatures and precipitation type with the system. We will have to fine tune as we get a little closer to this event. The image below show a snapshot of the European model around 3 AM Monday morning.
