Today’s Video:
Good Monday morning everyone, hope you had a great weekend! A relatively quiet start to the day across the area with some sunshine breaking out across portions of the area:We could see a few areas of light snow showers or flurries later this afternoon, but most likely only see a dusting or less.
As we work into tomorrow, light snow showers will begin to push into Southern and Western South Dakota and lead to light accumulations of generally 1″ or less. However, as the low pressure develops and pushes northeast, a heavier area of snow will develop Tuesday night and into Wednesday for Eastern SD and into Minnesota. Overall, this isn’t a super robust system, but it is fairly slow moving and strong enough to lead to a widespread band of 6-9″ of snow:
Most of the snow completely exits the area overnight on Wednesday in NE Minnesota with just some leftover flurries into Thursday morning. However, another wave of snow will work in as we push into Friday with the risk for a much stronger storm as we work into late Saturday and Sunday. This second storm could bring the risk of strong winds and very heavy snow and will need to be monitored carefully throughout the week.
