Good Wednesday morning everyone! A much quieter morning across the area with just a few flurries up in Northern North Dakota. Most of the area will stay dry with some sun throughout the day before the arctic front begins to sag south later today and into tonight. This front will lead to an area of snow, mainly in Northern ND and into Northern MN which could put down a few inches of snow. It will also allow temperatures to drop throughout the day tomorrow with some gusty winds which could blow and drift snow and cause hazardous travel at times.
Behind this system, we’ll quickly work in another wave mainly in the Western Dakotas as we work into Friday. This system looks much more robust than our frontal passage and we likely see widespread accumulations. Overall, data is pretty much in agreement with this system, with a 4-7″ band possible under an area of mid-level frontogenesis.
Another wave of accumulating snow is likely Saturday afternoon and into Sunday over the same general area with the potential for equally as intense or heavier snow:
