2-12-20 Tovar Milwaukee: Latest details on snowfall this evening and tonight. B.

Good afternoon everyone. We are keeping an eye on the two waves of developing snow to our north and south. Here is a look at the current radar and temperatures:

The initial wave will begin to work in over then next few hours. Here’s a look at the simulated radar:

Temperatures right now are above freezing for much of the area, however, when most of the snow begins temperatures will fall at or below freezing. Here’s a look at temperatures into tomorrow morning:

As arctic air filters in, the end of the snow will have higher snow ratios allowing for widespread 2-3″ with locally 4″ for much of Southern and SE Wisconsin. The initial northerly wave will be light and generally lead to less than 1″ of accumulation NW of Steven Point and then 1-2″ from Stevens Point and south/east. The heaviest amounts will develop where the two pieces of snow phase in southern and SE Wisconsin. The areas that have the best threat to see localized higher totals will be in SE Wisconsin along the lake where the risk of some lake effect snow could develop, but this looks very brief. Here is a look at our favored snowfall totals:

Here are total accumulations by hour into tomorrow morning:
