2-11-18 Update on the snows timing and forecast the rest of today. M.

A very heavy burst of snow hit the NW portion of IND last night and reports are around 4-5″ there this morning.  Elsewhere the heavier snow was hard to come by further into NE IND as warmer air nudged the system further NW however we haven’t seen official reports there yet so we are waiting for numbers further east. Im sure those who missed the heavier snows were not all that disappointed over it. Being that the system was shoved NW of guidance it also means it moves out quicker. For most of northern IN the precip is done for the day outside of some light flurries which is several hours ahead of schedule. We might even see some sunshine today which will help with the clean up process. Here is a radar loop covering the last 12 hours.

Current radar loop shows the snow is starting to get eaten away at with some residual snow showers in NW IL but overall northern IN event is winding down quickly this AM.

You can see the forecast hi-res radar data ends this today pretty early. Clearing most of the area from west to east this morning through lunch time. Most of the accum snow is over for northern IN.

As I mentioned above I do think even some sunshine is on the table as this system exits east.

Skies will clear out tonight and it will become very cold. There is a nice break in this wintry weather coming this week however I caution you winter is not over theres more left in the tank so rest up while you can!
