2-1-20 Indy DPW: Light rain today… warmer weather and more sunshine tomorrow. MG.

IN DPW Update:

Simulated radar from 11 AM through 7 PM.  Each frame is 1 hour.

Here is a look at temperatures from 11 AM today through 11 AM tomorrow morning.  Each frame is 1 hour.  Because of the light nature of precipitation today and temperatures staying above 32 F through the overnight, am not anticipating any icing/ refreeze issues.

More sunshine and warmer weather is expected for tomorrow.  Here is a look at temperatures around 4 PM tomorrow.  The model shown below may even be slightly too cool.  In Indianapolis, we could see temperatures approach the 60 F mark!

Breezy conditions develop mid-day tomorrow with some wind gust of 30 – 35 MPH possible.  The buildings in downtown should help block some of the stronger wind gust.  Here is a look at the wind gust potential around noon tomorrow.  Winds will be out of the southwest during the day sustained around 10 – 15 mph.  Winds will begin to relax as we progress later into the afternoon/ evening hours of Sunday.

Next week looks to be active beyond Monday afternoon.  Multiple shots of rain will be possible with some wintry potential on the backside of this system.  We will have to fine tune as we get a bit closer to this event.  Below is a snapshot of simulated radar guidance from the European model around 7 PM Wednesday.  Please watch video for further details.
