Good morning! One of the biggest aspects of the services we provide is our transparency and honesty regarding past weather patterns and events. Going forward, we will be producing “Month in Review” segments on the 1st of every month (or the closest business day if they fall on a weekend). In this edition, we cover the month of January and how it performed versus our forecast from late December. Overall, it is no surprise that the Ohio Valley and East ended up much warmer than forecast thanks to a stronger Pacific Jet and more amplified Southeast Ridge than originally thought. On the flip side, cold was indeed centered across the northern Rockies and warmth was prominent across the southern tier of the U.S. as forecasted. There were both positives and negatives taken away from January and we plan on using this information to further improve the forecasts and services we provide to all of you.
