12-7-18 Northern Plains: A few snow showers/flurries this morning… high pressure dominates into the weekend. B.

Today’s Video:

Good Friday morning everyone! We have a few areas of flurries/light snow showers near the Fargo and Minneapolis areas, but most of the area is dry to start the day.

Here’s a look at the simulated radar from the NAM3 into ~5 PM CDT. Note, most of the flurry/shower activity should exit the area by this time. I’ve also circled the area most at risk for some of this activity into this afternoon:

Into tonight we’ll need to watch for areas of patchy freezing fog/drizzle especially those with a snow pack:

While we see mostly clear skies today and into early tomorrow, a weak wave will push in and produce some high clouds tomorrow. Cannot rule out a few isolated pockets of freezing drizzle where the snowpack keeps temperatures down, but not expecting any notable precipitation given dry mid-level air:

Then next system to track will be Wednesday in Eastern Minnesota with the potential for some light snow showers mixing with rain.

Here’s a look at 7-day precipitation totals:

Here’s a look at temperatures over the next 4 days:
