In this type of pattern we need to watch for any energy aloft that may help to spark a few snow showers…we see a ribbon of energy passing through southern Illinois tonight, and some weak energy passing through Friday afternoon. Many areas don’t see anything (mostly clouds) thanks to very dry air. That said, a few flurries with these features are possible. The main feature we are watching arrives late Friday night bringing widespread light snow to northeast Illinois. Watch our afternoon update today as we will have updated information!
