Today’s video:
Big feature today will be the arctic cold front swing northwest to southeast through the day, bringing wet snow along with it (at times, heavy in nature as well given very cold air aloft despite warm at the surface). Probably start seeing snow develop late morning into early afternoon across IL and IN and after noon across central OH. Key thing to note is the temps out ahead of the cold front will be above freezing so impacts on roadways are low (initially) during the day. One thing to note again, this is an arctic front so temps will most definitely crash behind the boundary…a flash freeze, refreeze and slick spot risks will most definitely be present as the cold front passes into the overnight area-wide where untreated. A few flurries region-wide are likely waking up Friday morning as well:
Temperature loop as the cold front passes east…dipping down into the teens to lower 20s tonight into Friday morning; again, slick spot risks on untreated pavement are likely:
Our wintry system we’ve been discussing late weekend into Monday looks to stay south of our forecast area, ushering in a drier weekend and a much drier/quieter stretch of weather into next week…in fact some late day sunshine will be possible on Sunday as well:
Total precipitation over the next 7 days is below via the European model…essentially other than the band today along the arctic front, we stay precipitation-free over the next week:
High temperatures over the next 4 days:
Low temperatures over the next 4 days:
Wind forecast over the next 4 days:
High/low temperatures over the next 10 days: We finally warm close to normal next week.
