12-4-17 Ohio: Showers & gusty conditions into Tues likely…discussing evolution of early weekend clipper snowfall potential. K.

Today’s video (6 min):

Very gusty conditions late tonight into early Tuesday out ahead of the low pressure system…think the advisories likely expand (or they should, anyways) into Ohio mainly north of I-70, but gusts topping 45-50mph will be possible:

We time everything out in today’s video…overall this will bring 0.25-0.5″ on average with some pockets from mainly from Cincy to Columbus and points north seeing localized 0.75-1″:

There will be some opportunity for lake effect snow showers this week across the northern tier locations as discussed in the video…however, our next shot at a more widespread snowfall coverage comes late Friday into Saturday as a big trough digs into the Ohio Valley. It’s too early to discuss numbers, but typical with clipper systems is the light and fluffy stuff. Stay tuned on this threat.

Updated weeks 1 and 2 long-range outlooks shows the pattern transition to very cold into mid-month:
