Good Monday morning! We combined the INDOT districts into one forecast as we expect the same weather across the state over the next few days. This week will feature wild changes in the weather, from near record warmth today (60s) to an all-out transition to winter later this week. Can’t rule out a few showers today, but the main band of rain will arrive from near midnight to 4am. Wind gusts of 45-50 mph will be possible as this front passes overnight. Rain exits early Tuesday, then mainly dry and sharply colder. An upper-level trough may bring a few showers/snow showers to northern portions of the state Tuesday evening. It’s a mainly dry forecast Wednesday and Thursday..outside of some lake-effect in far northern Indiana. The main feature we are watching beyond tonight is for late Friday into Saturday as upper-level energy dives into the region. This will bring the risk for snow showers across the state and the possibility for at least minor accumulations. There is high confidence we see snow flying around, the big question is how much moisture and where the greatest area of energy tracks. This will be the main event this week to keep an eye on. This could bring better chances for more impactful lake-effect snow into Saturday for northern Indiana as winds briefly shift to a favorable northwest direction. More wintry potential on tap next week. More details in the video. Have a great day, and let us know if you have any questions!
