Here is a look at temperatures from 6 AM tomorrow morning through 6 AM Tuesday morning. Note that temperatures look to remain mainly above freezing from Monday morning into late Monday. Temperatures really begin to crash as we get to around 8 PM Monday night from west to east. It is Monday night into Tuesday morning, when temperatures become cold enough, that we can begin to see some accumulations, mainly across northern portions of the state.
Here is a preliminary look at snowfall totals through TUE. Roughly 0.5″ – 1″ across northern IL from Freeport to Chicago. Lesser amounts to the south with only a coating. We will have to fine tune going forward.
Some breezy conditions will also develop Monday night into early TUE with wind gust of 30 – 35+ possible, especially across northern portions of the state. Here is a look at the wind gust potential around 11 PM MON.
