12-28-19 Tovar Kokomo: Discussing the heavy rain this weekend. MG.

IN Video:

High temperatures today.

Beginning around midnight tonight, heavy, widespread rain will begin to work its way into the state.  Gusty conditions, pockets of moderate/ heavy rain, and thunder and lighting will be possible.  Below is a look at the preferred simulated radar guidance from 5 PM today through 7 AM Monday morning.

Gusty conditions will be possible under some of the stronger storms with gust of 30+mph.

Here is a look at the preferred model rainfall accumulations though Monday morning.  Widespread amounts of 1+” will be possible with some locations approaching 2″.  Areas across southern IN have the greatest potential to see accumulations of 2+”.

There is some potential for a few snow flurries to work in on the back side of this system.  However, warmer temperatures will limit any refreeze or accumulation risk on Monday.  Here is a look at temperatures around 1 AM TUE morning.  Temperatures widespread are still above the freezing mark at this time.

A few light snow flurries will be possible on TUE morning, mainly across northern portions of the state.  Accumulations look to be very light.  Will have to fine tune as we get closer to TUE.
