Midwest Extreme:
After a rather uneventful weather pattern, we are finally beginning to see a more robust weather system that will be heading our way. Here is a look at the current hazards across the country. There are Winter Storm Warnings off to the west, Tornado Watches to the south, and even Flash Flood Watches around the Ohio River.
An onslaught of rain is expected beginning late tonight and looks to continue for much of tomorrow. Here is a look at simulated radar from 12 AM ET to 7 AM Monday.
This rain is expected to bring very heavy rain across Indiana. Here is a look at some models rainfall totals through Monday.
The heavy rain is responsible in part to upper level winds rushing in moist, gulf air into the Ohio River Valley. Here is a look at the 850 mb winds as discussed in the video.
The amount of moisture that will be present in the atmosphere will be as much as 4 to possibly 5 times the amount that is normal for this time of year! The darker shades of “Purple” are indicative of 4x’s. The “Blues” are indicative of 5x’s!
