Good Saturday morning! The dense fog has developed quick overnight area-wide, similar to the text update we sent out late last night. Here’s a quick animation from 7am-1pmCT of the fog progression (should overall dissipate by 9-10amCT for Chicago…although a few areas in west-central IL may linger fog into the afternoon):
No freezing fog is expected, as shown below in the loop, with temps remaining well above freezing in the mid to upper 30s to even lower 40s (due to warm air advection – southerly wind flow pushing in warmer air):
