12-13-19 Tovar Milwaukee: Latest on very weak precipitation chances today… potential freezing fog late tonight into tomorrow morning. MG.

Here is a current look at the radar as of 12:00 PM CT.  We can see an area off to the west working its way east in western Wisconsin.  The wave of snow is expected to continue to move east in a weakling fashion.

Here is a look at current temperatures as of 11:45 AM CT.

Here is a look at temperatures around 3 PM.  Temperatures are expected to rise above freezing from Madison to Milwaukee.  Areas to the north look to consistently stay at/ below freezing throughout the day.

Here is a look at preferred model guidance from 1 PM today through 12 AM.  Models are consistent with weakening the precipitation by Iowa with the focus for snow potential still remaining north of Madison and Milwaukee.  Cannot rule out a stray flurry in these areas but because pavement temperatures will be relatively warm, and the light, weak nature of the precipitation, no/ minimal impacts should be expected.  Areas such as Stevens Point, Eau Claire, and La Crosse has the greatest potential to see some minor accumulating snow.  Some very light freezing rain may be possible into souther Wisconsin, but widespread issues are not currently anticipated.  Based off the latest model data, this looks to impact Stevens Point around the 5 – 6 PM timeframe.

Here is a look at preferred snowfall accumulation this afternoon.  Stevens Point could receive about 1″ or less of additional snowfall accumulation.  Note that the model accumulations across souther Wisconsin in areas such as Madison and Milwaukee is overdone (no/ extremely minimal amounts to be expected in these areas.)

Here is a look at low temperatures tonight/ tomorrow morning.

Models continue to hint at fog across central WI.  Latest model has fog risk from Stevens Point to just west of the Milwaukee area.  With Temperatures dipping below freezing, some slick spots may develop.  0 tolerance lots may be to be monitored because of this risk.
